With the whole cactus craze coming around, I though I would join in the fun and create my very own cactus pet! I’m no green thumb so a crochet cactus friend it is! Here I’ll be sharing with you my pattern that I used to create this little guy. 🙂
Cactus Pattern:
My little cactus was made to fit the orange pot which is roughly 45mm wide in diameter.
Main Body:
Here we will be working in Rounds using the magic circle.
Round 1: 6 sc in a magic circle (6)
Round 2: 2 sc in each sc (12)
Round 3: *1 sc, 1 increase* repeat around (18)
Round 4: *2sc, 1 increase* repeat around (24)
Round 5-25: sc around (24)
Attach eyes and embroider face, stuff the body with stuffing.
Round 26: *2sc, 1 decrease* repeat around (18)
Round 27: *1sc, 1 decrease* repeat around (12)
Round 28: *decrease* repeat around (6)
Close up the bottom. You now should have something which resembles a pickle. XD
Arms (Make 2):
Round 1: 5 sc in a magic circle (5)
Round 2: 2 sc in each sc (10)
Round 3: *sc, 1 increase* repeat around (15)
Round 4: sc around (15)
Round 5: 1 decrease, sc around (14)
Round 6: 1 decrease, sc around (13)
Round 7: 1 decrease, sc around (12)
Round 8: 1 decrease, sc around (11)
Round 9: 1 decrease, sc around (10)
Round 10: 1 decrease, sc around (9)
Round 11: 1 decrease, sc around (8)
Finish off leaving a long tail, and stuff arm a little.
Assembly:
Sew arms to the side of the body, one arm slightly higher than the other.
Ta! Da!
