Kuu Cafe

Kuu Cafe + Japanese Kitchen.

A friend took me to this cute little Japanese style cafe located in South Melbourne off Claredon St and Park St. This cafe serves authentic Japanese food with a new modern twist to it, they are also open from breakfast to dinner. Yay!

I was super excited to eat here because I’ve never had an ‘authentic’ Japanese style breakfast before. My friend and I were ready to feast and ordered all that our stomachs could potentially handle. With the friendly staffs help and recommendations we ordered the Japanese Brekky Platter for the Hungry (which is only served on weekends), which consisted with 2 onigiris, 2 salads, poached egg, salmon and miso soup! Smoked Trout Ochazuke, which is a dish you pour hot dashi over cooked rice. The idea is kind of like savory cereal and definitely a must try.

The food was not only delicious but it also had a strange comforting taste to it. Simple flavours but definitely hits the spot. I highly recommend these two dishes.

Matcha! Matcha! Matcha! Matcha! Matcha! Matcha! Matcha! Matcha! Matcha! Matcha!

Have I ever mentioned that I love Matha?!

I’ve not seen so much Matcha options on a menu, I was so excited we ordered the matcha latte, affogato and matcha ganache cake. I must say… it has got to be the most yummiest matcha flavour dishes I have tried thus far! You know when you eat/drink something and it immediatly brings a smile to your face and you can just keep eating/drinking it? That was how I felt about these matcha flavours.

I will surely be back to this cafe, nothing disappointed me and I left with a full and happy tummy. 🙂

Happy Smiles!
